Goa Forts Tour Destination to Explore Goa History

Goa is a beautiful state in India. It is famous for its forts, beaches, churches and temples. Tourists also want to explore Goa’s forts which are hundreds years old forts. Goa state has six famous forts to visit which are the following Fort Aguada, Fort Anjediva, Cabo de Rama, Chapora Fort, Corjuem Fort and Fort Tiracol.

Fort Aguada: It is located in north Goa district. This was constructed by Portuguese in seventeenth-century 1612. This fort was constructed to guard against Dutch and Marathas invaders. Fort Aguad is located on the mouth of river Mandovi.

Fort Anjediva: It is located on the Anjadip Island, south Goa district. This fort was built in 1505 by Dom Francisco de Almeida (Portuguese ruler). Tourists can go to Fort Anjediva from Karwar. It is just 2 kilometers far from NH – 17, also can access by boat from the Binga beach.

Cabo de Rama: It is a oldest for of the Goa stat. It is named on the Lord Rama. This fort is located in south Goa district just 25 km far from Margaon. Fort contain it self different monarchs which includes Hindu, Muslim and the Portuguese rulers.

Chapora Fort: It is located in Bardez, north Goa district near of the Chapora River. This fort is switched in different monarchs’ hands which are Marathas, Muslim and Portuguese. Modern the present fort was built in 1717 by Hindu ruler Pernem.
