Goa Colvale Fort and Local Village Tour Destination

Colvale fort or O Fortaleza de Sao Sebastiao de Colvale is famous fort which is situated at Colvale village, Bardez taluka, north Goa district. It was built during 1635-1681 by Portuguese ruler. This fort also captured by Maratha ruler during 1739 to 1742 but it re-captured by Portuguese ruler Marquis of Louriçal in 1742. The Portuguese ruler used it to a small regiment but later it shifted in Mapusa city. It is opened to visit general public but it now in ruin condition. This fort architecture style is mixed which includes Portuguese and Hindu style. Neighbor of this fort a church is situated which was built in 1591 by Franciscans.

How can reach:- It is approx 23 kilometers far from Goa state capital Panaji city. It is well connected to National highway- 17 which jointed it to rest all Indian major cities. Its distance from Main railway junction Margao city is just 53 kilometers but its nearest railway station is Thivim. Its distance from Dabolim international airport is just 44 kilometers.
